No Thanks! I don’t think so!
There are so many horrible things about Donald Trump that it’s getting harder to write about just one or two of them.
Donald John Trump is a crass, cruel, unsophisticated, narcissistic, boorish, unintelligent, racist, misogynistic, and Islamophobic man. However, he thinks he is the most attractive, smartest, popular, and accomplished person in the world, which, of course, he is not. He considers himself the true leader of today’s Republican Party. This makes him dangerous.
Trump’s actions, including starting an unnecessary war in Iran, are almost always done without a plan or a goal except to make himself, his family members, and his friends more money.
One of Trump’s newest acts of cruelty is to try to take away the American citizenship of naturalized citizens he doesn’t like. He’s also threatened to revoke the citizenship and deport New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Minnesota Congressperson Ilhan Omar particularly. Both of them are people of color, were born in African countries, and are Muslim; not a coincidence. Representative Omar became a naturalized citizen in 2000, and Mayor Mamdani in 2018. Meanwhile, Elon Musk became a U.S. citizen in 2002, and Melania Trump in 2006. Ilhan has been a citizen longer than both of them.
People who have known Donald Trump since he became an adult know that he is a racist. In the early 1970s, along with his father, who was a card-carrying member of the KKK, Trump refused to rent his apartments to Black people. Now, of course, he has become even more racist and Islamophobic, especially against Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, a Michigan-born American citizen of Egyptian heritage, while not treating Dr. Mehmet Oz, a Muslim of Turkish descent (not an Arab or African), with the same vitriol.
Trump is also a lifelong business failure. While he tries to convince people he is a billionaire, he actually wasted the millions his father left him, bankrupted almost all his properties, and left millions of dollars in bills unpaid. As president, especially in his second term, instead of working for the people, he is canceling programs that help the middle and lower classes while enriching himself, his family, and his friends with billions of dollars that have nothing to do with his presidential duties.
Trump is a 34-time convicted felon, sexual offender, and adjudicated rapist. He considers himself a “leader” because he childishly name-calls people, especially women, and tells lies in his speeches that he thinks are facts.
Trump’s popularity and his MAGA movement are quickly dwindling. We know they will do everything they can to disrupt the upcoming midterm elections and then invalidate any results they don’t like.
It is up to us to vote as many of them out of office and then to work to minimize their efforts to destroy our democracy and remake America in their image.
