We Are Speaking

“This is a daily news and analysis that respects you as a citizen. You’ll get in-depth information and perspective on the things that really matter. Popular Information guides you through the noise and helps you focus on what’s important. A progressive outlook is reflected in Popular Information’s reporting. ”

“This is a “one-stop shop” to get reporting, writing, dispatches on news, law, culture, music — plus some more casual stuff from Ari Melber. Ari believes that reporting and facts still matter and draws on culture and history to try to make sense of the world today. Also lyrics. Ari cracks me up with his hip-hop knowledge.”

“I met Wendi through a recent Substack writers' meeting. She and her Substack publication are awesome! Check it out!”

“Joyce Vance is a former United States Attorney, currently a law professor and a legal analyst for MSNBC and NBC. She believes that being a citizen is the most important work any of us can do. As citizens, a key part of our role is to educate ourselves and stay informed.”

“Heather Cox Richardson is a professor of American history. She chronicles today’s political landscape, but because you can’t get a grip on today’s politics without an outline of America’s Constitution, and laws, and the economy, and social customs, this newsletter explores what it means, and what it has meant, to be an American.”

“America, America is a plea and an ode, a collection of at least twice-weekly dispatches by Steven Beschloss, one of my favorite historians, that observe and reflect on unfolding stories and issues that define our country and social-political life.”

“This newsletter started on election night, 2020, when it became clear that a very large number of my fellow citizens could use some help understanding the state of the election, especially the flurry of lawsuits that followed. I look forward to his issues every day.”

“This is Dan Rather. 'Nuf said, but...the idea is that the world is a big, beautiful, complicated, sometimes tragic, often joyful place. And you will have access to my real-time thoughts as we walk through a tough, yet hopeful juncture of history.”

“I think you'll enjoy how Substack works for writers and for readers. ”
